depend  upon  herbal  based  medicines.  Superficial  fungal  infections  of  skin  affect  millions  of  people  throughout  the 
world. Enicostema axillare is a common  Indian medicinal plant belonging to the family Gentinaceae was selected and 
screened for the phyto chemical compounds and anti-fungal activity. Samples collected from the skin infected patients. 
The anti-fungal activity was studied only on the predominant fungal pathogens Trichopyton rubrum and Trichophyton 
mentagraphytes.
