PRELIMINARY STUDY</JournalTitle>
Cryptodism, is a congenital gonadal anomaly of clinical importance in domestic dogs, and its frequency
varies according to the breed of the animal. The present article describes the characteristics of an adult dog belonging
to the breed poddler with clinical features of cryptorchidism. For the evaluation of the animal, an interview was
carried out with the dog owners and a physical examination of the dog, paying special attention to the genital region.
The physical evaluation showed an intact penis without lesions, with total absence of scrotal sac and testicles.
Palpation shows a well-defined round abdominal mass on the left side, possibly involving the testicle that never
descended.
