composition. To ensure reproducible quality of herbal products, the starting material is essential for authentication.
Phytochemical and Pharmacognostic investigation was carried out of the whole plant of Buchanania angustifolia.
This study includes such as organoleptic, microscopical and phytochemical screening was performed since the
species was not noted for its pharmacognosy in part. Macroscopic studies are a technique of qualitative evaluation
based on the morphological and sensory profiles of whole plant of Buchanania angustifolia. Microscopic studies of
the plant is essential for qualitative evaluation and used to confirm the structural features of drug from the whole
plant of Buchanania angustifolia and also investigation of the phytoconstituents by application of advanced chemical
techniques. The review of literature also revealed that no pharmacognostic work had been car ried out of the whole
plant of Buchanania angustifolia. So we are investigated the Phytochemical and pharmacognostical profiles of whole
plant of Buchanania angustifolia.
<Email>venkatanarayan1978@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>6</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2016</year><keyword>Phytochemical Screening,Pharmacognostic Studies,Buchanania angustifolia</keyword><AUTHORS>Venkatanarayana D,Mohana Lakshmi S, Chandra Sekhar KB</AUTHORS><afflication>Research Scholar, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Studies (JNIAS), Hyderabad, Telangana, India,Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy, Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India,Director, JNTUA Oil Technological Research Institute, Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
